Welcome back to a quasi-normal Autumn! (with lots of practical changes…)
Time to Sing! Sing! Sing!
This autumn the Addison Singers Classical (Oratorio) will be singing Faure’s Requiem and the Jazz Choir will be singing Jazz choir songs arranged so they are easy to learn and fun with parts for altos mezzos and sopranos eg Mean to Me, Sentimental Journey, Blue Velvet. And we are offering a special deal!
If you would like to try a friendly choir who do not expect you to audition, sing solo or read music then join us this term and get a half term for free. This offer also applies to past members who have not been members since autumn 2020. And if you have been a member since Autumn 2020 introduce a new member and they and you will get the half term for free!
Classical will be singing at St Peter’s, Acton Green, on the E3 bus route or a 15 minute walk from Turnham Green tube. Jazz will meet at the Polish Centre (POSK) in Hammersmith around the corner from Ravenscourt Tube.
For classes, we have a new venue at ArtsEd, room 110 first floor, very conveniently round the corner from Turnham Green tube – Vocal Technique and Musicianship for Singers classes will take place face to face at ArtsEd. Vocal Development and Sight-singing with confidence (ex-Joining the Dots) classes will remain online via Zoom for the time being, as was the wish of our members.
We run from the week of Monday 13 September to the week of 22 November inclusive. Jazz meets Mondays at 8.00pm and Classical Wednesday at 8.00pm. Auditioned Jazz Ensemble is on Mondays 6.30pm at POSK and Auditioned Classical Chamber Choir on Wednesdays 6.30pm at St Peter’s.
Jazz will use Singing masks. Singing masks will be optional at St Peter’s. We will be cleaning between rehearsals, distancing and taking temperatures. Good spaces with fresh air. For classical choirs, a live YouTube will be available broadcasting rehearsals.
Come and join us!
