Singing for Syrians – Come and Sing Faure’s Requiem
26 January @ 11:00 am - 6:30 pm
To kick off the musical calendar for 2019, Singing for Syrians is back at the Holy Trinity with All Saints Church with the next in our series of Come & Sings!
This time the featured work is the wonderful Faure Requiem, a must-sing for any choral enthusiast. Absolutely everyone is welcome to this Come & Sing – all you need to do is buy, borrow or hire a copy of the Faure Requiem vocal score. PLEASE NOTE, copies WILL NOT be available on the day.
Making his return as one of Singing for Syrians loyalest supporters, our esteemed conductor is David Wordsworth, who led two Come & Sings in 2018, one in London and one in Dorchester Abbey. David is perhaps best known as Music Director of the Addison Singers, but is also Associate Director of the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London for 2018 and has conducted choirs of all kinds in many parts of the world.
Under his tutelage, the Come & Sing is sure to be a wonderfully rewarding and exciting experience, with the cost of the tickets going to the Hands Up Foundation (no.1156491), which supports primary health centres, prosthetic limb clinics, and medical training programs in and around Syria.
On the day, make sure you bring a packed lunch (or the willingness to go out and buy one), and all your friends and family for the performance in the evening! The Come and Sing will take place between 11.00am and 4.30pm, with an informal concert at the end between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. Tickets for the concert will be available on the door, as well as online.
We hope to see you there!
